Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Youth Ministry Team


The Youth Village has been used by a number of groups during the academic year. There is now a retreat programme developed for each year group as some schools are sending the entire school to the Youth Village during the course of the year. Alongside school groups there have also been a number of parishes or youth groups who have requested specific programmes. The summer term was especially busy with the visiting young people able to enjoy the facilities outside.





The feedback from the retreats has been exceptionally positive with many groups booking immediately for the following year. One school chaplain commented, ‘This was a unique and exciting experience, not one which can be repeated in school which will have long lasting benefits’ - Elizabeth McLeod, School Chaplain ‘It wasn’t what I expected-I thought God was boring till I got there’ - Year 9 student



The Youth Village has proved its versatility and potential by providing a perfect setting for various occasions throughout the year including a wedding, diocesan events, birthday parties and fundraising events.

The Youth Ministry Team has been successfully raising money to future develop facilities at the Youth Village. It is hoped that 2008 will see some major developments that will not only expand the already extensive work of YMT, but also increase its impact as it carries out its ministry. We are extremely grateful to all who have donated their time and have been of financial support to the work of YMT.
