Secondary Schools' Festival

The Primary Schools' Festival welcomes over 3,500 Year 6 children at the Emmaus Village who, over six days, explored and celebrated the meaning of faith.

Last year's theme is 'Plan Be', based on the Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew.  The centre-piece for the Primary Festival was a Beatitude Mountain. Each young person reflected on the ‘Be’ attitudes Jesus offers us in the Sermon on the Mount and contributed their prayers and reflections on the Beatitudes in which they wished to grow.

The Diocesan Festival takes place at the Emmaus Village every summer. Each year the Festival attracts more and more people, some staying in the chalets on-site, some travelling in by day and some enjoying the beautiful camp-site.

Aside from the invited inspirational speakers there are opportunities for prayer and reflection, time to relax, a ceilidh and sessions for children and young people.

Known to the students as 'God Camp', the Secondary Schools' Festival, is attended by students and staff representing all 20 of our diocesan schools. The young people pitched their tents on the Festival fields and the Emmaus Village comes alive with a great sense of community, friendship and fun.

Last summer's speakers included Speakers included TV personality Scarlett Moffatt, celebrated praise and worship leader Ronan Johnston and MOBO Award winning artist Faith Child.

We love to hear from you.

Please feel free to leave us a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
